indianola-3

Counting down the top 10 sports stories of the year for Indianola High School with #5. The Indianola softball team’s season was a huge success in many ways, winning 34 games and making the regional final, sporting some of the state’s best players in their senior class, and only dropping one conference contest on the way to a Little Hawkeye Conference Championship. The Indians earned the LHC title with a doubleheader sweep of county rival and second place Norwalk, a night where they allowed just four runs, while hitting four home runs themselves including a three-run bomb from senior outfielder Alley May.

The Indians ended the conference season a full six games ahead of second place Norwalk.
