Counting down the top 10 sports stories of the year for Indianola High School with #2. The Indianola football team had a 1-3 start to the 2020 season, dropping heartbreaking contests to Dowling Catholic, Western Dubuque, and Urbandale that were all decided in the fourth quarter. Despite the rough start, the Indians won three out of their next four games to qualify to the round of 32 postseason in class 4A, matching them up on the road with rival Johnston. The Indians dominated from start to finish in that contest, ending the first quarter in a 7-7 tie then not allowing another point for the Dragons while rushing for 252 total yards on the ground and three touchdowns.

The Indians won the contest 30-7, then had a halftime lead against Waukee in the next round of postseason play but ultimately had their season come to a close.
