A wild night for the PCM girls track and field team led to our number two moment of the 2020-2021 PCM Sports season. By the final hours of April 15, PCM would have a Drake Relays qualifier ahead of the deadline to post a time.
After beginning the night at Guthrie Center an equipment malfunction forced PCM Girls Track and Field Coach Eric Karr to find an opportunity for his hurdlers to qualify for the Drake Relays. Karr explained the events that ultimately led to the craziest night of the 2021 season.
Had they not made the call to Ogden, Senior Margo Chipps would not have qualified to run at the Blue Oval in Des Moines in the 100 meter hurdles. After facing such crazy circumstances, Chipps described the feeling of qualifying as a relief.
The trip to Ogden allowed Chipps to add an 18th place finish at the Drake Relays to her high school track resume.
