Counting down the top 10 sports stories of the year for Simpson College with #2. One of the most dominant runs in the American Rivers Conference took place this past season in women’s tennis, with Anna Wanek going undefeated at #1 singles to claim the American Rivers Conference Individual Championship. Wanek was dominant in both the fall and spring portions of the season, only dropping three total sets and was named the conference MVP. Wanek is the second Simpson women’s tennis player to win MVP recognition, joining Kathy Nedved, who earned co-MVP honors in 1996.
