Iowa’s annual Tax Free holiday is today and Saturday. Shoppers across the state have the opportunity to purchase select items from retailers without paying the sales tax. It’s the 21st straight year that Iowa has held this event, which coincides with back-to-school shopping season. Knoxville Chamber of Commerce Director Emma Skahill encourages residents to support local businesses and shop small during this statewide event.
Sales tax will not be applied to items such as clothing or footwear, provided they are priced under $100. To find a list of items that qualify for the tax exemption, click here.
