Casey Klunder was named the next Central Baseball head coach last week, departing Waverly-Shell Rock High School after 16 seasons. He says one of the key differences between running a high school team and a college team is the year-round contact with players, which he cites as a main reason for applying for the role.
Klunder guided his Go-Hawk teams to four state tournaments, including a Class 3A state title in 2015. He replaces Matt Schirm, who resigned earlier this summer after seven seasons.
