The Pella School Board has several topics to address at its first meeting of the new academic year today.

Formal consideration of the Pella Community School District’s mission and vision is on the agenda after work sessions addressing the changes were held this summer. A review of Iowa Department of Public Health guidance for COVID-19 and the district’s return to learn plan will be conducted as well.

Additionally, the board will hold a work session to review the key points of proposed facility upgrades tied to a potential bond issue this fall, which the district is currently generating support for. Details about the timeline, scope and planning, and surveys related to potential uses will all be discussed by the Pella School Board and district administration.

The board plans to also set official meeting dates, times and locations for the next 10 months, and review the schedule for teachers and students returning to campus in the next few weeks.

The Pella School Board meeting begins at 4:30 this afternoon in the Pella High School Library, and can also be viewed online: http://meet.google.com/sdb-yozn-bks
