The Indianola School Board approved the use of the third round of federal funding the district received, known as ESSER III, and will have the funds go towards multiple uses. Superintendent Art Sathoff tells KNIA News 20% of the funds must go towards catching students up on lost learning from the pandemic, but the rest are going towards a lot of uses.

“Everything from cleaning supplies to help combat COVID, to additional staff, to things like connectivity and remote learning for students. We have all of those things and more in our proposed plan. Things like summer school, credit recovery programming, some connectivity things for families that may have trouble with that, and elementary devices, we are ordering chromebooks for K-5 students.”
