Another round of heat and humidity is in the forecast today, although conditions won’t be as oppressive as the past few days. Those with outdoor plans will want to remain hydrated and take frequent breaks in air conditioning as heat index values approach 100 degrees. A cold front will sweep through the region late this evening, with scattered storms possible, some of which may have severe wind gusts. However, widespread severe weather is not expected. Much more pleasant conditions are in place starting Friday through early next week, with daytime highs in the low-to-mid 80s and less humidity during that time.
