Participation in activities and athletics have trended up for the last few years at Knoxville High School. According to Activities Director Ryan Paulsen the school not only offers 12 varsity sports for boys and girls plus a sharing agreement with Indianola in boys and girls swimming, Knoxville also offered a wide variety of non-athletic activities. Paulsen says the wide array of activities give every student a chance to be involved in extracurriculars on or off the playing field.

Paulsen credits the coaches and leaders of the activities for the uptick in participation across the board. Fall sports started practice this week, and most of the extracurricular programs will start when the school year takes up on Tuesday August 24th.
