The Warren County Economic Development Corporation Small Business Grant Contest is underway, providing a pair of grants to qualifying small businesses. Executive Director of the WCED Rachel Gocken tells KNIA News one of the added benefits from the contest over the past several years has not just come from helping the businesses that end up with the grant, but making more businesses known and providing them with resources they may not have had otherwise.

“It’s helped us identify, especially in the startup category, individuals who are working on growing a business here that we might not have known about otherwise if we had not put hte contest together. What it has allowed us to do is have all the individuals who have applied or made it as a finalist is we were able to help many of them with other resources, because the idea is we want all of them to be successful and have their projects come to fruition.”
