The U.S. Census Bureau has released population data from the 2020 count.
Marion County’s population grew slightly over the past decade, from 33,309 to 33,414, 105 residents during that ten-year span.
Knoxville jumped by 282 residents during that time from 7,313 to 7,595, while Pella grew from 10,352 to 10,464, or by 112 individuals.
Warren County was one of the top ten in terms of growth from 2010 to 2020 with 52,403 residents, up from 46,225 in the last Census, a difference of 6,178 new residents–a 13.4% increase. Indianola accounted for 1051 of those new individuals, jumping to a population of 15,833 from 14,782 in 2010.
Marion and Warren Counties are among the 31 counties that either maintained or grew their population. Warren County was the 4th largest jump in terms of percentage growth over the past decade.
