The Warren County Treasurer’s Office is continuing an appointment only system at the Warren County Administration Building, requiring those who need services to make an appointment online or via phone. Warren County Treasurer Julie Daugherty tells KNIA News the change was made not only because of increasing volume of work for the department due to recent legislation, but the building capacity was starting to become an issue.
“I’ve had complaints from the sheriff, from E911, from Warren County Emergency Management, about the lines we used to have in the hallways. They would ask me what I was going to do about the lines, and my only reply to them was always there is nothing I can do about the lines without an appointment system.”
Daugherty also said the Treasurer’s Office receives approximately 500 pieces of mail a week and around 200 phone calls a day that must be replied to. To listen to the full interview, tune in to today’s Let’s Talk Indianola.
