17 players are on the Melcher-Dallas Football Squad this season. With such low numbers the Saints have already cancelled their junior varsity portion of the schedule, which gives some of the freshmen and sophomores a chance to get in some game action this season. Coach Pat Ferguson tells KNIA Sports the younger players are picking the scheme up and working hard.

He says several of his upperclassmen have been absent from practice due to commitments at the Iowa State Fair and other previously scheduled activities. Melcher-Dallas will kick off the season August 27th at home against Mormon Trail.
