Pleasantville’s football squad will have a small team of only 36 players, which may lead to athletes playing on both sides of the ball during the season.

The Trojans will look to fill some holes that are left by key players like Caylor Clark, Colby Sandholdt, and Matthew Kauffman. Parker Sheets is slated to be the starting quarterback Week one for Pleasantville while Jake DeJoode and Jacob Hiemstra will be getting the bulk of the carries in the backfield. One of the best athletes returning defensively will be Bristol Huyck, who was second on the team in tackles last year with 40. Also looking to make a bigger impact will be Michael McGriff, who was second on the team in both sacks and tackles for loss last season.

Pleasantville will open the season August 27 against Lynnville-Sully.
