United Way of Marion County is a local non-profit organization that suffered losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As the economy bounces back, they are looking for extra funding to continue to make a difference in local communities. Board Member John Leeper says the organization is able to fulfill needs through a structured format.
“The thing about United Way is the ability to get local people involved in determining local needs, and finding local agencies that can provide services for those needs. A person that wants to make a charitable contribution is able to do that through a payroll deduction. It’s also a way for a person to make a charitable contribution to their community and know that it’s going to go to the places that are most in need.”
