Several Pella area residents enjoyed success at the 2021 Iowa State Fair.

The top harmonica players brought their unique sounds to Pioneer Hall for the Harmonica competition. Henry Place of Pella took the top spot in the Youth class. Warren Place of Pella earned second place.

Sleuths and foragers squared off in friendly competition at the Iowa Parks and Recreation Day Scavenger Hunt. The Plainview team from Pella won first place.

Top professional and amateur cake decorators vied for top honors in the Decorated Cakes competition prior to the start of the 2021 Iowa State Fair. Brenda Klyn of Pella earned Reserve Sweepstakes and placed in several individual categories.

Stephen Bennett of Pella placed 1st in two categories of the “Haves and Have Knots” Wood Projects competition.
