After ending its abbreviated 2021 spring season with a pair of solid wins, the Central College women’s soccer team is looking for its winning streak to carry over into the fall campaign.

After starting the spring season 1-5, the Dutch unleashed an offensive outburst against Buena Vista University for an 8-0 win and then outclassed Luther College for a 3-2 win to end the season with two big victories.

While the COVID-19 pandemic obviously caused some unique circumstances, the Dutch women may have found a silver lining in all of it.

Central has nine starters returning and 10 other letterwinners from the squad that finished 3-4 in the spring. But Kobylinski is also excited about the possibilities as 17 newcomers are in fall camp with the team.

The Dutch added a third assistant coach this summer in Jeff Diehl, a former player at Eastern Illinois University. He joins veterans Kayla Sunvold and Russ Goodman.

Central opens the season at home Wednesday, September 1 against Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) at 2 p.m.
