A family in Pella has been sharing gifts of love after years of support from the community.
Jen Diers says after her family moved to Pella in 2008, they opened their home to five adopted children, three of whom have special needs. They’ve been supported by the Pella School District’s special education department and the annual Knights of Columbus Campaign for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities.
Jen says her daughter Lucy has been working to give back to others through a new project — Lucy Love Boxes. The project was inspired when one of Lucy’s siblings began seeking work heading into high school, and she wanted to spread joy through custom gifts.
