After starting the season 0-2, Pleasantville’s volleyball squad will look for their first win of the season as they travel to Madrid for their third West Central Conference matchup in as many matches.
The Trojans have yet to win a set this season, being swept in straight sets by Earlham and No. 4 in Class 2A Des Moines Christian in their first two matches. Pleasantville has also failed to score 20 points in any of their sets so far this season. The most points they have put up in a set so far is 18, which they did in both of their two matches. A bright spot for Pleasantville have been the sophomore tandem of Kendall Krichau and Danika Park, who are the top two players in kills on the team. Coach Joel Allman talked about how much of a difference Krichau brings to the team.
“Kendall Krichau was a freshman last year that played all the way around. She has played in a lot of club (volleyball) outside the high school scene. We are seeing what she brings to the team as hitting and passing goes.”
Adi Adreon also has 23 assists through two matches this season. The match is at Madrid High School and will begin at 6:30 PM.
