This weekend the Knoxville Volleyball Squad will head to Atlantic for a meet to play four matches, three of which will be against teams the Panthers would not see otherwise. Along with Winterset, who the Panthers get at the tail end of the regular season in a heads-up match, they will take on the host Trojans, Treynor and St. Albert. Coach Mollie Keitges tells KNIA/KRLS Sports she beefed up the schedule a bit this season knowing the need to play teams like the four they are seeing in Atlantic to get ready for the postseason due to the fact Knoxville is back in class 4A this year.
Keitges:
“We got some tougher things, and we dropped a couple tournaments that are lighter, and we have a few new things that are tougher. We don’t want to lose in August by any means, but we want to set ourselves up to win in October.”
Knoxville stands at 2-2 on the season. The Atlantic Invitational will get underway Saturday at 10:00.
