Two varsity sports teams at Norwalk are in action today. The #15 in Class 4A Warrior volleyball team will head to its second tournament of the season, this time at ADM. Norwalk went 2-2 at Saturday’s Grinnell tournament, and Head Coach Jenna Karpuk says she’s confident her team can surpass that mark against a quality group of opponents.
“It’s a good mix. The ADM tournament went really well for us last year. I think it’s good for that confidence piece, we don’t have a tournament this weekend, which is super nice. We’ll see some 3A and 4A schools, which is good, we’ve been playing a lot of bigger schools. So seeing some competition we’ll likely see in the postseason is good for us.”
The 6-3 Warriors will take on the host Tigers, Nevada, Atlantic, Woodward-Granger and Gilbert. First serve is scheduled for 4:30 at ADM High School in Adel.
Meanwhile, the cross country teams will finally run their first meet of the season after last week’s DMACC meet was cancelled. The Warriors head to Ames for a meet at Iowa State University. Action begins at 4:00 p.m.
