The #4 in Class 4A Norwalk football team will face its first road test of the season tonight, making the short drive to Des Moines Lincoln for the program’s first ever meeting with a Des Moines city high school. The Warriors enter with the momentum from last week’s overtime win over Pella, and will face a Railsplitter team who looks to make their mark as one of the contenders in Class 5A. Head Coach Paul Patterson says Lincoln had great success in their gameplan in last week’s game, and his team will likely need to make some adjustments.

The Railsplitters opened their season last week with a 68-6 road victory over Sioux City West. Norwalk will be tasked with slowing down the two-headed monster at running back, with Deshawn Coleman and Josh Jenkins both racking up over 100 yards apiece, and who combined for seven touchdowns in that win.

Tonight’s game will air on KNIA3 with Jon Mohwinkle and Chris Larson calling the action. Pregame coverage begins at 6:30, with the opening kickoff at Hutchens Metro Stadium in Des Moines set for 7:00.
