September is Emergency Preparedness Month, a month to raise awareness about the importance of preparing for disasters and emergencies that could happen at any time, with the 2021 theme of “Prepare to Protect, Preparing for disasters is protecting everyone you love”. Warren County Emergency Management Coordinator Troy Bass tells KNIA News there are many resources you can use to help make a plan for any situation, whether a natural disaster or severe weather event, a power outage, or accident.
“You can go to the FEMA website, or go on to the Iowa Homeland Security Emergency Management section for online tips if you are able to go on the internet. If not, you can always stop by the office and we can always help you with planning either with brochures or just sitting down and visiting for a bit.”
