Knoxville Police Department K9 Rosko will soon receive a bullet and stab-protective vest after the department received a donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s. The vest is sponsored by Carole Rowland of Pleasantville, who was a major donor toward the department’s purchase of Rosko. Chief Aaron Fuller tells KNIA/KRLS News that the vests typically cost between $1,700 and $2,300.
Vested Interest in K9s is a charity whose mission is to provide bullet and stab-protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement agencies throughout the United States. Rosko’s vest will be custom-fitted and delivered in eight to 10 weeks, and embroidered with “In memory of Sam.”
