The Simpson Storm football squad fell behind early on the road and never recovered as the #1 Crusaders from Mary Hardin-Baylor dominated in all facets of the game to earn an 84-6 win in a game heard live on KNIA. The Storm only managed two yards of offense in the first quarter as they gave up 21 points, then trailed at halftime 42-0. A third quarter strike from quarterback Seth Howard to Reed Worth was the only scoring the offense came by, as they ended the contest with just 138 yards of total offense. The Crusaders lived up to their #1 ranking, getting over 450 yards of offense and scoring 12 touchdowns. Worth led the day for the Storm, catching five passes for 83 yards and a touchdown, while safety Lanny Herzog led the Storm defense with 13 tackles. Simpson falls to 0-1 on the season, and will host University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in their home opener next week.
