The Knoxville Public Library has received a $5,000 grant through the American Rescue Plan Act and the State Library of Iowa. The grant will be used to expand programming services outside the building with outdoor furniture and a surveillance system for added security. Director Roslin Thompson tells KNIA/KRLS News that the library plans to add more hybrid programming in the future, for both in-person and online uses.
A portable voice amplifier will be used for outdoor programs such as Story Times in the Park, as well as indoors. The grant is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the American Rescue Plan Act as administered by the State Library of Iowa.
