Simpson College is hosting a panel discussion on the history of the labor movement in the United States and Iowa this evening. The moderated discussion will be centered around current flashpoints and controversies between labor and management, and trends in the future of labor in the gig economy. The discussion is co-sponsored by the Culver Public Policy Center, the Iowa History Center, and the Dept. of Business Administration and Economics.

Panelists include:
Executive VP for the Iowa Association of Business and Industry – Nicole Crain
Field Coordinator for the Western Iowa Labor Federation – Jen Pellent
Former National VP, Midwest Region, League of United Latin American Citizens – Joe Henry
Oral Historian, Univ. of Iowa Labor Center, Univ. of Iowa College of Law – John McKerley

The discussion will be held at 7pm in the Kent Campus Center on the Simpson College Campus and available virtually.
