
A dominant effort in all phases of the game gave the Central College women’s soccer team a 5-0 victory Thursday night against the University of Northwestern – St. Paul (Minn.).
The Dutch (3-1-0) made it three shutouts in a row against the Eagles (0-3-0). Central used 29 players, including a pair of goalkeepers.
Five different players scored goals for the Dutch, starting with Abby Frey’s strike in the 15th minute. Abby Sutberry made it 2-0 with four seconds left in the first half, courtesy of a Jacie Borman assist.
Elena Pinto, Grace Coates and Alyssa Knuth added goals in the second half, using assists from Frey, Rachel Daniels and Amber Santana, respectively.
Central hosts the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
