The Indianola YMCA United We Stand 9/11 Remembrance Day is tomorrow on September 11th, helping honor those that lost their lives in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. In partnership with the Indianola Fire Department and other Warren County Firefighters, the YMCA is holding a special event to not only honor first responders, but to give the opportunity to experience what they endure on the job.
Organizer Diane Thomas tells KNIA News she was inspired to set up the event after meeting firefighters who work out at the Y, seeing all the extra work they do to keep us safe, and wanting a way to honor firefighters and their profession.
The event will include a presentation of the colors, a singing of the National Anthem, and a moment of silence, as well as family activities and the CPAT (Candidate Physical Ability Test) test open to all. The 9/11 Remembrance Day begins at 8:30am.
