A pair of ranked teams in Class 4A will tangle tonight in Council Bluffs as #3 Norwalk takes on #4 Lewis Central. The Warriors enter the matchup 2-0 after victories in overtime and blowout fashion in their first two games, earning statewide notoriety as one of the best teams. Head Coach Paul Patterson is excited to see what his team can do under the spotlight as one of the top games in Iowa tonight.
It could very well be the toughest test of the season so far for Norwalk. The Titans offer one of the most diverse offenses and some of the top talent on defense, and will have to contend with Iowa State commit Hunter Deyo, who leads the charge defensively. Lewis Central is 1-1 after a season-opening loss at 3A #1 Harlan, and made quick work of Carlisle at home last week. It’ll be the second-ever meeting between the programs, as the Titans eliminated Norwalk from last year’s postseason in the round of 32.
Tonight’s game will air on KNIA3 with Jon Mohwinkle and Dawson Livingston calling the action. Pregame coverage begins at 6:30, with the opening kickoff from Council Bluffs at 7:00.
