While the Knoxville Football Squad was on the wrong side of another lopsided score, the Panthers were finally able to score late in the 4th quarter in a 62-6 loss to Carlisle as heard on 95.3 KNIA.

Gavin Montalvo scampered 38 yards for the first score of the season for the Panthers in an otherwise dismal night that got started by the Wildcats on the game’s first play for a 51 yard run, and before fans got comfortable, Carlisle held a 28-0 first quarter lead that grew to 48-0 by halftime. Panthers Coach Eric Kellar told KNIA/KRLS Sports his team knew what Carlisle was going to do, but just could not take advantage.

Kellar:
“We watched the JV game and knew exactly what they were going to do and had conversations about who goes where, and just didn’t get it done. They were so physical and got to our linebackers fast. We’ll watch film point out what needs improvement and take it to heart and keep improving.”

Montalvo ran the ball four times for 57 yards and the score, while Noah Keefer threw for 40 with Konner Leslie leading the receivers with one catch for 26 yards. Knoxville is now 0-3 on the season and will wrap up non-district play next Friday at Fairfield.
