The Norwalk cross country team was in West Des Moines Tuesday for the Tom Karpan Invite, hosted by Valley. The boys were team champions with 40 points, ahead of Ankeny Centennial’s 49. Individually, Donovan Card placed third with a time of 16:50, Henry Groos was seventh with a time of 17:12, Will Chase was eighth in 17:14, and Noah Buhrow was 10th in 17:22.
On the girls side, the Warriors placed third with 90 points. Breelie Mauro was the only top 10 finisher, placing fourth in a time of 20:01.
Norwalk returns to action Saturday at Pella.
The #15 in Class 4A Warrior volleyball team made the trip to #5 in 4A Oskaloosa for a conference showdown, and fell 3-1. The first two sets went to the Indians by identical 25-17 scores. Norwalk got their only set win of the night in set 3, winning 25-19. Oskaloosa finished off the night by winning set 4 25-21. Norwalk falls to 10-6 overall and 1-2 in conference play. They’ll be at Waukee for an invitational Saturday.
