The #9 in Class 4A Norwalk football team celebrating Homecoming with a 28-9 bounceback victory over Dallas Center-Grimes Friday, as aired on KNIA3. Neither team’s offense could get clicking throughout much of the first half, but the Mustangs scored within the final minute before halftime to take a 7-0 lead into the break.
Norwalk started with the ball in the third quarter, marched down the field, and finished the drive with a Landon Hochstein touchdown run from five yards out to tie the game. Hochstein threw two touchdown passes later in the period, the first to Tracy Davis on a 29-yard catch and run, and the second on a one-play drive capped off by Dillon Ranck.
Another Hochstein touchdown run in the fourth and a Mustang safety on a blocked punt would conclude the scoring in an impressive win for Norwalk. Head Coach Paul Patterson says his team executed the gameplan to perfection, and is positioned well heading into district play
Landon Hochstein accounted for all four touchdowns, with two rushing and two passing. Norwalk moves to 3-1 overall, and begins district play next week at Boone.
