pleasantville-3

Pleasantville faced an uphill battle against Class 1A’s #7 team Sigourney Keota on Friday night, and the Cobras proved worthy of their ranking, dominating the Trojans in a 42-0 rout, as heard live on KRLS2. .

The Trojans defense was worn down early, as the Cobras scored three touchdowns of more than 50 yards. With players playing both ways and chasing down Sigourney Keota ball carriers, the offense couldn’t get anything to work, totaling just over 50 total yards of offense in the game. Dillon Ammons had 45 of Pleasantville’s 55 total yards of offense, and Trojans Head Coach Mack Jorth complemented Ammons efforts in the loss.

“He’s always going to run hard. He gives his best effort all the time, it was just really tough sledding the whole night. We weren’t providing anybody any room, any holes, any grass, so it was really tough to move the ball. We just really got to work on that. But in terms of Dillon, he just gives everything he’s got everytime and he runs hard and tries to create something even when something’s not there. So you have to commend him for that, and he’s always been like that so it’s no surprise whatsoever.”

The 2-2 Trojans will look to get back in the win column on the road next week against the 2-2 Cardinals of Central Decatur.
