As the Delta variant spreads across the nation and cases of COVID-19 remain high locally, many business leaders and large organizations are reviewing vaccination guidelines as the federal and state government push for an increase in shots.
President Joe Biden announced a testing mandate for large employers, nursing homes, and medical facilities — giving those workers a choice to vaccinate or be subject to weekly COVID-19 tests to enter the workplace.
Vermeer President and CEO Jason Andringa says since the beginning of the pandemic, the corporation has been placing workplace safety at the forefront, which includes distancing, cleaning, testing, and vaccinating. Andringa says while legal challenges may remain to the CDC guidance on vaccines for large employers, they intend to follow any law related to COVID-19 mitigation. All three versions of the COVID-19 vaccine approved in the United States are available at their campus pharmacy.
Currently, Andringa estimates just over 50% of employees are fully vaccinated. Hear more about the latest at Vermeer Corporation on today’s Let’s Talk Pella.
