Pella Christian Cross Country has had a successful season through their first five meets, and the program’s efforts are being recognized.
The Eagles Boys Cross Country Team was moved up in Class 1A from #20 to #16 in the latest Iowa Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association team rankings. Additionally for the boys’ squad, Kaden Van Wyngarden entered the Individual state rankings as the #25 runner in the class. The girls team had two individuals enter the rankings this week, as Joslyn Terpstra was ranked #11 and Jaclyn Holmes was ranked #14 in the state. Eagle Leader and Junior Jenna Van Maanen said it’s exciting to see the team reaching their potential.
“We have set quite a few goals for our team and it’s exciting to see us fulfilling those goals with PRs and ultimately hoping to get to state both as a boys and girls team. It’s just exciting to see us grow as a team.”
The Eagles will return to competition on Tuesday at the Knoxville Meet at Pine Knolls Golf Course.
