The Indianola City Council approved the first reading of ordinances and regulations regarding the use of golf carts, ATV/UTV’s, and snowmobiles on city streets at their meeting Monday.

Community and Economic Development Director Charlie Dissell tells KNIA News the regulations allow for golf carts on city streets that have a speed limit under 35mph, and do not currently need to be registered to drive on city streets unlike ATV/UTV’s or snowmobiles.

Dissell also said the ordinance requires the council approving the ordinance two more times, and is expected to be in place by November.
