A pep rally and coronation will be held tonight at 6:30 p.m. at Ken Locke Stadium to celebrate Knoxville’s Homecoming. The king candidates are Andrew Jackson, Michael Greubel, Sean Collins, Joey Hembrook, and Emmett Schmidt. The queen candidates are Charlee Heffron, Dani Johnston, Taylor Jones, Johanna Leonard, and Olivia Maasdam. Immediately following are the powder puff and iron man games. A class competition assembly will be held during the day Friday, with the parade beginning at 3:00 on the square.
On Friday, downtown businesses will display homecoming posters from the last 70 years. The association’s annual meeting is Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the Grant Theater, with the opportunity to purchase memberships. The Grand Theater will be open from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. showing films that document the history of Knoxville.
The parade begins at 3:00, followed by a block gathering at 4:00 on the square. The class reunion lineup begins at 6:30 at Ken Locke Stadium, with the introduction of classes at 7:00 ahead of the football game against Creston.
