It is no secret that the Melcher-Dallas and Twin Cedars football rivalry is one of the best small school clashes around. That match up is tomorrow as the Saints travel to Twin Cedars in hopes for another win in the series. Should Melcher-Dallas win, the Saints would tie for the longest winning streak in series history at five. Melcher-Dallas Coach Pat Ferguson tells KNIA Sports this game is circled every year on each other’s schedule and usually gets the biggest crowd.
Ferguson:
“It’s one of the games that we circle on the schedule and I know Twin Cedars does too. The kids know each other, the parents know each other, and it’s a great rivalry and it doesn’t matter the records it is always a great game.”
After scrambling to get the game on each team’s schedule at the end of last season, the series is guaranteed to play each other for the next two seasons. The Saints currently hold a 17-11 lead in the series, winning the last four games.
