After finishing at the bottom of the standings in their last meet at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Tuesday, Pleasantville’s cross country squad will look to cut down on times as the homestretch of the regular season begins.
The Trojans finished with eighth and ninth-place finishes at Eddyville Tuesday, so the emphasis is going to be on cutting times from runners. Even though the team has had bright spots, Coach Aaron Fichter states there is a lot of improvement that needs to be made before the conference meet at Lake Panora October 14.
“I think there is a lot of room for improvement still. When I look at our group I don’t see, just from top to bottom, a lot of kids that are at the high end of mileage and at the high end of where they have been time wise. I still think there is a lot of growth that can be made.”
Pleasantville’s next meet will be next Tuesday when the team takes a trip to Clarke.
