Over 30,000 concert-goers will visit Indianola Saturday for Knotfest, featuring Slipknot, Faith No More, Megadeth, and Tech N9ne among others. Concert Director of Operations Rich Ramos tells KNIA News not only will shuttles be transporting attendees from Des Moines throughout the day and night, but the venue will be taking advantage of nearly all the balloon field space for parking.

“We knew that we would be needing more than just the normal parking the balloons use. So we are not only using the parking that they use, but we are using an auxiliary lot that is to the west of the spectator field. We’ve built our event field where the balloons take off, near the pilots compound and the sponsor area, and we are taking the rest of the property that’s surrounding our event field that the balloons have, and we are parking there too.”

Ramos said traffic will be heaviest from 10am to 5pm throughout the day, then when all the cars leave at the end of the concert after midnight.
