Two teams that share the same nickname, who have not met on the football field in 26 years, get together at Ken Locke Stadium in Knoxville tonight. Creston comes into town ushering in district play in class 3A District six and Knoxville would love nothing better than to provide a cap to Homecoming week with a win. But to do that, the black and gold Panthers must stop a multiple style attack from the black and red Panthers. Knoxville Coach Eric Kellar tells KNIA/KRLS Sports Creston will run power football one series, and then spread out and try to finesse its way down the field.
Kellar:
“They’re multidimensional and run power then run spread and make you prepare for both. They only lost to Winterset 7-0 and Winterset beat ADM 60-36 so they’re a solid team.”
Knoxville finally got the ground game going last week running for 171 yards and two touchdowns, plus a special teams score. However one area that Knoxville will have to improve on is still finishing drives, two last week ended with turnovers inside Fairfield’s territory. You can listen to tonight’s game live on 95.3 KNIA with audio provided on the KHS Activities You Tube Channel at 6:30.
