PCM’s football squad will try to break their three-game losing skid with their first home district game of the season as they take on the Albia Blue Demons.
The Mustangs have lost their last three games, dropping to No. 10 in Class 4A Newton, No. 4 in Class 1A Pella Christian, and Iowa Falls-Alden. PCM has struggled to get points on the board, putting up just 15 points in their last three games. In spite of their offense struggling, PCM’s defense is still stifling, giving up just 15 points per game. Coach Greg Bonnett tells KRLS Sports that he will be paying attention to Albia’s speed during the game.
“Right now, currently they have this crew of basketball players out there that would make a football coach nervous because they can throw the ball around. They can do some things athletically with it, they can jump and they can go get it. Defensively they are playing very well and bringing the house. But when you blitz, you are going to give up some points.”
The two teams have squared off 13 times throughout their history, with PCM leading the series 9-4. PCM has won the last three matchups against the Blue Demons, including shutting them out 57-0 last year.
Kickoff at PCM High School will be at 7:30 PM. The game will be broadcast on the KRLS3 stream at kniakrls.com with Alex Koch and Jeff Lindsay in the broadcast booth.
