For the first time this season, the Trojans will face back-to-back road games. Pleasantville travels south tonight with the intent of spoiling homecoming for Central Decatur, in a showdown of 2-2 teams in Class 1A District 6.
The Trojans will look to get their offense back on track following a rough showing in week four, only being able to muster 63 yards of total offense. Dillon Ammons paced the offensive attack in his first start of the season, gaining 45 of the 63 yards in the loss. The defense has struggled against the run this season, allowing 294.5 rushing yards per game. Trojans Head Coach Mack Jorth knows that his team faces another tough matchup against the Cardinals.
“Central Decatur is very athletic, and their coach does a real nice job of finding ways to try to attack you where you’re weak. So, it will be a very good challenge for us, and hopefully we’re able to heal from the wounds of a tough loss and come back and be ready to play good football. There are a lot of really good football teams, and the district contests are where it matters. Everything is still in front of you. One loss to a very good team doesn’t break your season, so we just have to make sure we’re ready to go.”
Kickoff for tonight’s game between the Trojans and Cardinals is set for 7 pm at Central Decatur High School.
