It was all PCM all night as the Mustangs annihilate the Albia Blue Demons on Homecoming night, 50-6, as broadcast on the KRLS3 stream at kniakrls.com.
The Mustangs got the scoring started when a snap went over the head of Albia quarterback Gavin Grinstead for a safety. After that, PCM’s offense just sat back and let Aidan Anderson run all over the Blue Demon defense. Anderson had touchdown runs of 20, 43, 26, and 12 yards in the first half. Anderson’s four scores made it 29-0 PCM at the half. In the second half, Kaden Hale and Adrian Robbins got in on the action. Hale scored from two yards out, while Robbins scored from two and five yards out to finish the scoring for PCM.
Anderson had his best game since coming back from injury, rushing 15 times for 231 yards and four touchdowns. PCM rushed for 359 yards overall and gained 431 total yards of offense. Freshman quarterback Gavin Van Gorp got his first win as a starter, going four for five through the air with 72 yards. Carson Vandelune had three catches for 61 yards. Coach Greg Bonnett praised Anderson for his phenomenal performance.
“You know, I think we needed to score points. Obviously, we didn’t give up that many either but it was so nice to see Aidan Anderson out there being Aidan again and I don’t think we have seen that.”
With the win, PCM goes to 2-3 on the season and 1-1 in district play. Next week will be a substate final rematch for PCM as they take on West Marshall. Pregame will be at 6:30 PM and kickoff is at 7:30 PM on the KRLS3 stream at kniakrls.com.
