The #13 Central College football team broke school records in points scored and offensive yards among many others in a huge day at Buxton Stadium in Indianola, as the Dutch took down rival Simpson 84-16 in a game heard live on both 92.1 KRLS and 94.3 KNIA.

Central racked up 789 yards of total offense, jumping out to a 7-0 lead on their first drive that took only four plays to go 58 yards in 46 seconds as quarterback Blaine Hawkins threw a touchdown pass to Erik Knaak. Simpson answered with a Parker Hansen 28-yard field goal to make the score 7-3, but the rest of the first half was all Dutch as Hawkins threw six more touchdown passes to build an insurmountable 56-3 halftime lead.

The domination did not stop there, as the Dutch added four more rushing touchdowns in the second half from four different backs, and ended the game with 556 yards in the air and 233 on the ground. Hawkins went 22-24 for 424 yards and 7 touchdowns, all in the first half and both single game school records, while Knaak 9 receptions for 165 yards and four touchdowns, tying another school record.

Simpson would add a pair of touchdowns in the second half to Joe McNally and Cam Jones. The Storm offense ended with 368 yards on the day, with Hunter Ogle rushing 12 times for 128 yards, and McNally catching 8 passes for 70 yards and a touchdown. Head coach Matt Jeter tells KNIA Sports he holds himself accountable for the game, and wants his players to let this game sting and help it motivate them for the rest of the season.

Central improves to 4-0 on the season, and host rival Wartburg for a matchup of unbeaten conference teams next week, while Simpson falls to 0-4 and will make the road trip to Loras.
