Pleasantville’s volleyball squad was swept by Van Meter, while the cross country teams both finished fifth in their meet Tuesday at Clarke.
The Trojans’ volleyball squad lost in straight sets, dropping their fifth straight match. Pleasantville lost the match 18-25, 10-25, and 9-25. The match was also costly for the Trojans as senior Adi Adreon left the match in the second set with an injury. Pleasantville was unable to find a rhythm after Adreon’s injury. Kristen Roe had three kills while Adreon had five digs. The loss drops Pleasantville to 9-9 on the season. Pleasantville will be back in action Saturday for their home tournament at 9:00 AM.
The Trojans boys and girls both finished fifth in their meet at Clarke. Pleasantville’s boys finished ahead of the host, Wayne, Central Decatur, Southwest Valley, and Moravia in the meet. The Trojans had two runners finish just outside the top ten. Devon Luing finished 11th with a time of 20:22 while Jenkin Fulmer finished 12th with a time of 20:29. Pleasantville’s girls’ top finisher was Riley Thill, who finished 28th overall with a time of 28:08. Madilyn Rowson finished 34th overall with a time of 29:32.
Pleasantville’s next meet will be Thursday at 5:00 PM when they travel to Chariton.
