After a scoreless first half, the Central College women’s soccer team found the back of the net twice for a 2-0 win at North Park University (Wed.). Central (7-2-1) broke the 0-0 draw against the Vikings (3-6-1) in the 59th minute when Grace Coates scored for the sixth time this season by following up a Rachel Daniels miss.

Maddi Fisher made it 2-0 with her first goal of the season, connecting from range in the 80th minute. She was assisted by Abby Sutberry.

Goalkeeper Jasmyn Bush had her fourth shutout of the season while stopping the only Viking shot that came on frame.

Central wrapped its non-conference schedule with the win and matched the 2018 team’s 7-2-1 start through 10 matches. The Dutch have outscored their opponents 26-5 despite starting just three juniors and one senior in most of their matches.

The Dutch are off this weekend before heading into the thick of American Rivers Conference play, starting at Simpson College next Wednesday for a 5 p.m. match.
