The Norwalk boys and girls cross country teams made an overnight trip last weekend to the Roy Griak Invitational, hosted by the University of Minnesota. Junior Donovan Card placed 60th in the 446-runner boys high school field, and says it was a valuable experience to make such a trip.

“It was definitely different. A lot of people I don’t know, especially during the season, you see a lot of the same teams over and over again. So it was definitely a change seeing all these different teams at a new course.”

As a team, the Warriors placed 15th of 47, which was fifth among the Iowa schools at the meet. The Warriors return to action Saturday in Waverly at a meet hosted by Wartburg.
